In February 2026 our three 5 MWh BESS blocks and two step-up skid stations arrived on site in Naracoorte, South Australia. It was a stunning day and the installation all went according to plan.

This 15 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) at Flow Power’s Naracoorte Energy Project comprises three 5 MWh battery containers, each delivering 4.6 MW of inverter output, along with step-up transformer stations.

Situated in South Australia, the Naracoorte site will feature a 5 MW solar farm integrated with the BESS. This pairing enhances grid reliability and supports load balancing, particularly during peak demand periods.

The Brunstock BESS will also provide FCAS, contributing to a more stable and resilient electricity grid. As energy consumption continues to rise across the state, the Naracoorte project plays a vital role in delivering clean, dependable power to local businesses and communities.

Inside each cabinet, liquid-cooled batteries meet both IEC and Australian standards, ensuring high reliability and efficiency. Brunstock BESS supports rapid frequency modulation and network development, making it ideal for modern grid applications.

Our battery energy storage systems integrate long-life lithium-ion batteries, a BMS, a thermal management system (TMS), a safety management system (SMS) and an intelligent power distribution system (IPD) in a 20-foot standard container.

We are proud to have worked closely with Flow Power on both the BESS and the required step-up transformers for the Naracoorte Solar Farm.
